Why The Braves Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Braves are 18th in the majors in runs scored, while sitting 13th in opponent batting average, 16th in on-base percentage, and ninth in slugging. Marcell Ozuna has led the way. He is hitting .312 this year with a .385 on-base percentage. He has 18 home runs, and 14 doubles, helping his team lead 55 RBIs. Further, he has scored 39 times this year. Matt Olson has also been solid this year. He is hitting .239 this year but has a .323 on-base percentage. Olson has hit 15 doubles and nine home runs, leading to 34 RBIs and 27 runs scored. Rounding out the top bats on the year is Ozzie Albies. Albies are hitting .265 this year, with 17 doubles and four home runs. This has led to 30 RBIs and 28 runs scored.

It has been a struggle for many Braves bats in the last week. Ozzie Albies has been the best in the previous week. He is hitting just .217 but with a home run and four RBIs, while scoring three times. Meanwhile, Marcell Ozuna has scored the most in the last week. He is hitting .304 in his last six games, with a home run and two RBIs, but he has scored five times. As a team, the Braves are hitting just .188 in the last week, and have scored just 22 runs in the last six games. They have also struck out 49 times in the last six games while walking just 12.

Why The Orioles Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Orioles are tied for second in the majors in runs scored, while sitting eighth in batting average, 17th in on-base percentage, and first in slugging. Adley Rutschman has been amazing this year. He leads the team with a .306 average, and 49 RBIs on the year. He also has hit 13 home runs and scored 35 times this year. Meanwhile, Gunnar Henderson has been elite this year. He is hitting .267 but with a team-leading .371 on-base percentage. He has 20 home runs this year, while also hitting ten doubles and four triples. Henderson has stolen eight bases and scored 52 times. Rounding out the top bats is Jordan Westburg. He is hitting .285 on the year with a .339 on-base percentage. He has ten home runs and 39 RBIs while scoring 34 times.

Rutschman is also on a major hot streak. In his last seven games, he is hitting .323 with three home runs and 11 RBIs. He has also scored five times. Henderson has been scoring a bunch in the last week. He has scored eight runs while getting on base at a .394 rate. Henderson also has three RBIs. Meanwhile, Ryan Mountcastle has hit just .172 but the hits have been productive. He has three home runs and eight RBIs in that time.

Current members of the Orioles have 43 lifetime at-bats against Max Fried without much success. They are hitting just .163 against him with two home runs and three RBIs. Cedric Mullins has one hit in seven at-bats, but the one hit is a solo home run. Anthony Santander also has just one hit in three at-bats against Fried, but the hit is a home run as well.

Final Braves-Orioles Prediction & Pick

The Braves offense has struggled as of late. Over the weekend, they lost three of four to the Washington Nationals, and have lost four of their last five. In those games, they have scored just 14 runs, good for less than three a game. The current road trip they are on has seen them win just twice. Further, the pitching has struggled some. They have given up seven or more runs three times in the last six games. With the Orioles offense clicking on all cylinders, take them to get the win.
