Texas Tech, as college basketball odds analysts will tell you, will probably be a top-four seed in the NCAA Tournament. That marks the Red Raiders as a second-tier Final Four contender behind the top two seeds in each region. That's fine for the Red Raiders. Remember, they made the 2019 Final Four and national championship game as a No. 3 seed.
When considering a Texas Tech Oklahoma prediction, keep in mind that Texas Tech has established itself as one of the best defensive teams in the country. The Red Raiders smothered Baylor and Kansas in consecutive wins over those two Big 12 heavyweights a few weeks ago. Texas Tech recently shut down Texas and then stayed the course a few days later in a road win over a tough West Virginia team. Texas Tech is still in the hunt for the Big 12 championship. At worst, the Red Raiders will finish in the top three of the toughest top-to-bottom conference in the country, a league which has a great chance to get 80 percent (8 of 10) teams into the 2022 NCAA Tournament. Head coach Mark Adams, an assistant on the 2019 national runner-up team, has proved that he was the perfect choice to succeed Chris Beard in Lubbock.
Oklahoma started the season 12-3 under first-year head coach Porter Moser, who came to Norman from Loyola-Chicago, where he made the 2018 Final Four. OU looked like a near-certain NCAA Tournament team. However, the Sooners have subsequently lost seven of eight games. They haven't beaten Kansas or Baylor at the top end of the Big 12, but crucially, they haven't been able to beat TCU (swept by the Horned Frogs) and just lost to Oklahoma State. This team's offense has died. The Sooners can't score in the 70s anymore. They are being limited to the 60s and 50s on a regular basis. Texas Tech looks, on paper, like the worst possible matchup for the Sooners, given how tough it has been for them to score against quality defenses.

Why Texas Tech Could Cover the Spread
The Red Raiders play great defense and Oklahoma plays bad offense. Tech is having a great season while Oklahoma is crumbling. There's no need to make anything more complicated than that.
Why Oklahoma Could Cover the Spread
The Sooners know they need a high-end win to boost their resume, which has been getting torched of late. It's not that the Sooners are losing to bad teams; every Big 12 team is a solid team or better. Yet, OU can't keep losing. The Sooners have to collect good wins in order to make the NCAA Tournament. If they play with desperation and perform well on offense, they could come up with a surprising win.
Final Texas Tech-Oklahoma Prediction & Pick
Oklahoma plays hard and competes well, but at some point, the Sooners have to find some offense, and against Texas Tech, it simply isn't likely that it will happen. The Red Raiders deserve the benefit of the doubt.
Final Texas Tech-Oklahoma Pick: Texas Tech -2.5
