We will see if he can get to one more Elite Eight, or if this is the end of his last run with the Blue Devils, the final game of a legendary 42-year career. There should be added optimism in the Duke camp entering this game in San Francisco. The Blue Devils often flinched when an opponent made a big surge against them, but on Sunday against Tom Izzo and Michigan State, Duke managed to take a punch and fight back. Michigan State gained a five-point lead as the second-round contest neared the home stretch, but Duke delivered a strong finishing kick to prevail. The Blue Devils elevated their place in the March Madness odds by avoiding the upset bug which hit Baylor, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Auburn, and Tennessee over the weekend.
As you contemplate a Texas Tech Duke prediction, know that Jeremy Roach came alive for Duke in the second half against Michigan State after a nearly scoreless first half. Duke needs players other than Paolo Banchero to step up if the Blue Devils are going to make the Final Four. Duke showed great maturity against Michigan State. That team shown on Sunday will be able to compete with Texas Tech. Coach K's career depends on it.
When you think about a Texas Tech Duke pick, realize that Texas Tech did not play particularly well against Notre Dame on Sunday in the second round, yet still managed to fight past the Fighting Irish. Texas Tech played its signature defense and did not allow Notre Dame to breathe for most of the contest. Tech still trailed by a few points late in the game, but dug in at the defensive end and reeled off a scoring run to grab the victory. Why Texas Tech Could Cover the Spread
The Red Raiders are very physical, far more than Michigan State. They are well-coached on defense and will not give Duke anything easy. Texas Tech should win battles for rebounds and loose balls. As long as the Red Raiders can defend without fouling and not give up many easy baskets, they should win.
Why Duke Could Cover the Spread
The Blue Devils played with championship poise and resolve on Sunday against Michigan State. If that Duke team shows up in San Francisco, the Blue Devils should love their chances.

Will this be the end for Coach K? Probably. Texas Tech is very muscular and active on defense, and it will be hard for Duke to score with great consistency.
