Why The 76ers Can Cover The Spread

Tobias Harris is back, and the 76ers were winning games with Harris and Seth Curry as the leading scoring options for a minute earlier this season. The 76ers have struggled to stay afloat during Embiid's extended absence, however, as they do not have Ben Simmons to lean on inside defensively. Pulling off a win in Denver will be a tough task for the 76ers on Thursday, but it is doable considering the Nuggets are also banged up. With Will Barton listed as doubtful, the Nuggets will likely be without three of their top seven players. The Nuggets have made a habit of playing short-handed though. Denver has also improved defensively this season, making this a tough spot for the 76ers. A cover is possible, but it will be difficult to come out of this one unless Harris and Curry both play really well.

Denver has been one of if not the best team at home in the NBA so far this season. They are +10.5 points better than their opponents per 100 possessions on their home floor this season, holding teams to under 98 points per 100 possessions. Jokic has taken another step forward defensively it seems, and not having Murray and Porter Jr. has honestly probably helped the defense as well. The Nuggets are a good pick to cover and win on their home floor Thursday as they will look to move to 8-1 in Denver this season.
