The Brooklyn Nets will get Kyrie Irving back for this game and he should be able to come back full-time here in the next few days. Depending on the decision with the state of New York and the Nets, having one of the best players in the NBA back will be huge for this team. The Nets just got blown out by the Boston Celtics for the second time in a two-week span. Brooklyn is now (31-28) on the season which is good for 8th in the East.

The Milwaukee Bucks just signed guard Tyreke Evans as he was reinstated into the NBA. The former top-3 pick in the NBA draft has been out of the league for a while but is now back and ready to help lead the Bucks to back-to-back NBA Finals appearances. Milwaukee is coming off a 3-point loss to the Philadelphia 76ers before the All-Star break. This will be their first game back in action for the second half of the season. Milwaukee is (36-24) on the season which puts them 4th in the conference.

Why The Nets Could Cover The Spread

Irving is back tonight, but the Nets are still short-handed. This will be a tough game for them to cover unless Kyrie goes off for 30+ and 10+ assists. the Nets have a couple of vets who can help keep this game close, but if they got ran out of the building against the Celtics, this should be a similar result. The Nets will have no choice but to try and contain Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton. Adding in Evans gives them another guard with speed and the ability to defend. The Bucks are in a good position to compete for a title once again, so the Nets must play their best basketball tonight with what they got.

Until Kevin Durant comes back and Ben Simmons debuts, it's going to be a long road for this Nets team. If they don’t start winning now, they might not even have a chance to make the playoffs with teams like the Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards gaining up on them.

Why The Bucks Could Cover The Spread

Milwaukee can easily cover this spread. They come into this game as the favorites and that is the right call. I expect them to win this game regardless, but covering and winning by 10 points isn't easy. The Nets are coming off of a 23-point loss to the Celtics but I don't think Irving will be enough to cut that lead to less than 10 against a better Bucks team. The Bucks don't need to do anything out of the ordinary tonight, they just need to play stair style of basketball and that should be enough to beat this struggling Nets squad.

The Nets are just (22-37-1) against the spread this season while the Bucks are not much better at (26-34) ATS. I don't think the past spreads and their current records will have anything to do with the outcome tonight.

Final Nets-Bucks Prediction & Pick

Take the Bucks to cover this spread as the Nets (even with Kyrie) haven't shown they can compete against the elite teams. Consider taking the under as well as I don't think Brooklyn will score that many points.

Final Nets-Bucks Prediction & Pick: Bucks -9.5 (-110) & under: 237 (-110)
