The Phoenix Suns come into this game with the best record in the NBA. They defeated the Chicago Bulls last night 127-124 in a close battle. The Suns improved to (43-10) on the season and have a 2.5 game lead over the Golden State Warriors. As for the Philadelphia 76ers, they are (32-21) on the year and are two games back of the East lead. The Sixers defeated the Bulls last time out and have the toughest job in front of them.

Why The Suns Could Cover The Spread
Phoenix is the underdog coming into this matchup which is a bit surprising. The Suns are steamrolling through the entire league right now and are just as good on the road as they are in Phoenix. Phoenix has five losses on the road and at home so no matter where the Suns play, they will be a difficult task. The Suns have a major task themselves, however, as Joel Embiid is coming off of a 40-point performance in the win over the Bulls. Embiid leads the NBA in scoring at 29.3 points per game. Embiid has scored at least 26 points in his last five games and is impossible to contain right now. If the Suns can rattle him just a little and potentially keep him to under 25 points, then the Suns will cover this spread.
Why The 76ers Could Cover The Spread
Philadelphia is playing very well as of late and is (7-3) in their last 10 games. It's been the Sixers' defense that has stepped up the most allowing just 105 points per game. With the way the league is now, holding opponents to around 105 points or less in today's NBA is a great sign. It's going to take another huge defensive performance for the 76ers tonight if they want to win this game at home. They come in as the favorites by one point, so they will cover if they win by two. The Sixers will need to have Embiid on DeAndre Ayton all night long. That will be an exciting matchup to watch as two of the best centers in the NBA go at it. The Suns are (9-1) in their last 10 games so it will take an almost perfect performance from the Sixers to get it done tonight.
