The Oklahoma City Thunder will play the Memphis Grizzlies in a Western Conference matchup on Monday night. It's time continue our NBA odds series with a Thunder-Grizzlies prediction and pick.

The Thunder and Grizzlies will play on Monday as two of the lesser impacted teams by the current Covid outbreak across the NBA. The Thunder currently have no players in the Covid protocols, while Memphis has just Ziaire Williams in the protocols. This game may be the least impacted game by Covid on the entire Monday night NBA slate, so that's encouraging. The Grizzlies have strangely been surging since the injury to Ja Morant a couple of weeks ago and sit as the No. 4 seed in the West entering Monday's action. Memphis comes in as big home favorites over the Thunder partly as a result of the recent hot streak.

Here is how FanDuel has set the Thunder-Grizzlies odds for this Monday NBA matchup.

NBA Odds: Thunder-Grizzlies Odds

Oklahoma City Thunder +8.5 (-110)

Memphis Grizzlies -8.5 (-110)

Over 213 (-110)

Under 213 (-110)

Why The Thunder Could Cover The Spread

Article Continues Below

Oklahoma City comes into play healthy but that may be all they have going for them. The Thunder have struggled this season and sit near the bottom of the West standings entering play on Monday. This comes as no surprise as they have one of, if not the most inexperienced roster in the NBA. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander makes the Thunder fun, but the fact remains they are not a very good team as currently constructed. They will face an uphill battle at a cover or a win vs. a Grizzlies team that has somehow improved since their star guard Ja Morant went down with an injury.

The Thunder are 8-5 vs. the spread as away underdogs this season and 17-11 against the spread overall. Oklahoma City is 4-9 outright away from home this season. The Thunder will have the rest edge here as they were off while Memphis played on Sunday.

Why The Grizzlies Could Cover The Spread

Memphis comes into this one hot as winners of eight out of their last ten games. The Grizzlies should be in a good spot for another win here vs. an inferior Thunder team. Jaren Jackson Jr. has stepped up in the absence of Ja Morant and helped push Memphis forward in the star guard's absence. Lots of others have stepped up as well, as the Grizzlies have been able to somehow improve as a team without their best player. Memphis will be at a rest disadvantage in this one following their loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. The game was at home, so Memphis did not have to travel.

The Grizzles come into this one having covered the spread in seven of their last ten games. Memphis is 19-12 overall vs. the spread this season and 11-7 outright on their home floor. The Grizzlies should be able to pull off another cover in this one in addition to picking up the win over the Thunder. Despite losing Morant, Memphis has kept on rolling and improved their chances at locking down a playoff spot this upcoming Spring.

Final Thunder-Grizzlies Prediction and Pick

Take the Grizzlies to win and cover in this spot. Memphis has been a very good team of late while the Thunder have lost three of four and seven of their last ten. The Grizzlies have a deeper, better, more experienced team and should be able to cover and win despite being on the back-to-back.

Final Thunder-Grizzlies Prediction & Pick: Grizzlies -8.5 (-110)
