The Oklahoma City Thunder travel to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves. It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Thunder-Timberwolves prediction and pick.
OKC is coming off a bad loss to the Milwaukee Bucks last time out 142-115. There was nothing OKC could do in that game s they have lost three in a row. They will face the Timberwolves once again as they just lost 138-101 last time against them. OKC is now (20-45) on the season. Minnesota is (37-29) on the year and is coming off a huge win over the Portland Trail Blazers 124-81. The T-Wolves have won five-straight games and are moving up in the Western Conference Standings. They are just 2.5 games behind the Denver Nuggets for the 6th seed in the West.

Why The Thunder Could Cover The Spread
Article Continues BelowOKC is one of the better teams in the NBA when it comes to covering the spread. It's unfortunate they haven't been able to really win those games, but they aren't losing the way they are predicted to. This team will likely finish with a below-5 record and earn a top pick in the NBA draft. This will be a good offseason for them as they have a bunch of young stars that could turn into studs with experience. If they can draft a solid big man in this draft, then expect OKC to make some strides next season with SGA running the show. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (SGA) is one of the top young point guards in the NBA and is a huge reason for them being good ATS.
Their record ATS is (38-23-4) and that is a huge sign for people wanting to bet on this game. They come in huge underdogs here once again, so they have a chance to cover yet another spread against Minnesota here. OKC does have a few role players out tonight with injures.
Why The Timberwolves Could Cover The Spread
Minnesota has a tough spread here but they dominated OKC last time out. They come into this game as heavy favorites once again, so expect the T-Wolves to find a way to win this game. There are a lot of injuries in this game, however, so it's not going to be for certain. The T-Wolves will be without a few role players as well but most of them are currently questionable. Jarred Vanderbilt, Anthony Edwards, D'Angelo Russell, and Jaylen Nowell are all questionable for tonight. If just a few of them do suit up, then I expect the Timberwolves to find a way to win this game.
They will need to contain SGA which isn't easy, but if they play exactly as they did in their last matchup I don't expect anything to be different. Minnesota is (8-2) in their last 10 games averaging 122 points per game. That will certainly get the job done. They are allowing 112.9 per game so if their defense improves a little, then watch out in the West.
Final Thunder-Timberwolves Prediction & Pick
I like the T-Wolves to win this game. But I'm, taking the solid OKC against the spread here as they find ways to cover all the time. They didn't cover in their last game, but I expect them to put up more of a fight tonight.
Final Thunder-Timberwolves Pick: Thunder +15 (-112)
