The Brooklyn Nets will host the Washington Wizards Thursday night! It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Wizards-Nets prediction and pick.

The Washington Wizards are coming off a loss to the Indiana Pacers last night 133-108. Without Bradley Beal and newly acquired Kristaps Porzingis active, the Wizards don't have much going for them right now. They are (26-31) on the season which puts them 11th in the Eastern Conference. The Nets are finally back in the win column after winning their last two games against the Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks. The Nets stormed back from 28 down to defeat the Knicks on the road without their big three. They will once again be without them and so this shouldn't be much of an entertaining game with all five superstars out.

Why The Wizards Could Cover The Spread

The Wizards are 19-19 in conference play this season and will face off against the Nets for the 4th time already. Washington won the last matchup by one point as Raul Neto led the Wizards in the 113-112 win last week. Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will need to pick up where they left off because they both score north of 25 points in the loss against the Pacers. This team doesn't have much experienced depth right now so they will need to rely on those guys to get them going. They are on the road here where they are 11-16 on the season. What's interesting is they will be facing a Nets team that will be even more shorted handed from when they beat them last week. That will benefit the Wizards and they should have a chance to cover this spread here.

Why The Nets Could Cover The Spread

Cam Thomas is starting to introduce himself to the NBA world. He put up 21 off the bench in the comeback win over the Knicks. Seth Curry scored 20 and Andre Drummond put up 11 with 19 rebounds to help them do it. The Nets still have some elite talent on the roster right now and if they all collectively play well, they should be able to continue winning games. Kyrie Irving should suit up next against the Milwaukee Bucks on the 26th. For now, it will be a group effort to try and get the job done.

The Nets are more than capable of covering this spread. If we see the second-half Nets from the game against the Knicks then they should win this game by at least five points at home. Once Irving, Kevin Durant, and Ben Simmons start playing together, this team will be back to contending. They just better hope it's sooner rather than later.

Final Wizards-Nets Prediction & Pick

I know the Wizards beat the Nets last time even when Irving played, but I expect the Nets to win this game. I do, however, think the Wizards will put up a fight and cover this spread. Take the Wizards +4.5 on the road and consider taking the over at 215 as well.

Final Wizards-Nets Prediction & Pick: Wizards +4.5 (-110) & over: 215 (-112)
