Why the 49ers Could Win

The San Francisco 49ers started this season 2-0 and have since lost their last 4 games. However, they have had to face tough competition, and this week against the Bears will be a significant step down. Three of the niners losses have been one score games that just didn't go their way. San Francisco will come into this game aggressive and trying to snatch a win on the road. They have a real shot at taking down Chicago and taking a step towards a winning record.

One of the strongest parts of this 49ers team has been the defense. San Francisco ranks 6th in the league in total yards allowed. They are holding opposing teams to only 324 yards of offense a game. The niners held the Cardinals, one of if not the best offense in the league, to only 17 points. They nearly shut down Kyler Murray and lost that game by a single score. The niners defense will look to dominate the Bears and rookie quarterback, Justin Fields. The defense will be there on Sunday to set up the offense to take care of business.

This San Francisco offense has the pieces to dominate games. Elijah Mitchell and Deebo Samuel have proved themselves to be the top offensive weapons on this team. Mitchell has had to deal with injuries this season but is coming off a 100 yard rushing performance. Deebo Samuel has made it clear that he is the top receiver in San Francisco. He has nearly 650 receiving yards through 6 games and is also coming off a 100-yard week. These two offensive weapons will play a crucial role in Sunday's matchup. If the offense can get going then the niners should win this game.

Why the Bears Could Win

The Bears have lost their last two games but are looking to turn things around heading into Week 8. They are a win away from being even on the year. Chicago was humiliated last week by one of the best teams in the NFL. The Bears will hopefully have learned from that game and come into Week 8 with a chip on their shoulder and something to prove. Justin Fields struggled, but he is the starter for this team and will need to step and lead them to a victory against the niners.

Chicago has been consistent in one aspect of their game, defense. The Bears are 11th in the league in opposing yards allowed. While they may be lower than the Niners in yards allowed, on average the Bears allow less points per game. Chicago's defense will really need to step up if they want to win this game. The over under is particularly low for this game because it could easily turn into a defensive battle. If the Bears win on the defensive end then they could walk away with a win this week.

One bright spot in their loss to Tampa Bay was Khalil Herbert. It seems like Chicago has finally found their running back. Herbert has been getting better every game that he has played. The rookie broke 100 rushing yards for the first time in his career last week. If Herbert can continue to be successful he could actually have a big impact on this game. Herbert's success could make things easier on Justin Fields and the offense as a whole could come into place. If this happens then the Bears should be able to take down San Francisco.

Final 49ers-Bears Prediction & Pick

This game will likely come down to the wire. Whenever two mediocre teams face off it's tough to make a pick because anything can happen. But at the end of the day the Niners are the more established, experienced team. For Chicago to win this game there are a lot of things that will need to go right. The Bears could end up covering, but the better pick here is San Francisco. Pick the 49ers to win and cover.

FINAL 49ERS-BEARS PREDICTION & PICK: San Francisco 49ers -3.5 (-110)
