The Seattle Seahawks will take on the Arizona Cardinals to finish off the 2021 NFL season. It's time to continue our NFL odds series and make a Seahawks-Cardinals prediction and pick.
This is one of the few games in Week 18 that carries significant meaning. The Seahawks obviously don't have much to play for with a 6-10 record, but the Cardinals have the NFC West title on the line. If Arizona wins and the Los Angeles Rams lose to the San Francisco 49ers, the Cardinals secure the division title and at least one home playoff game. Arizona has plenty on the line, and the Seahawks would love to play spoiler to their rival and end the season with a win. This should be an entertaining matchup through and through.

Why The Seahawks Could Cover The Spread
Article Continues BelowArizona started off the season as one of the hottest defensive teams in the NFL, but quite a bit has changed since then. The Cardinals have had some defensive struggles recently, particularly against opposing passing games. In each of Arizona's last four games, the quarterback playing them has thrown for two or more touchdowns and zero interceptions. It's not a coincidence that the Cardinals are 1-3 in that span. Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson hasn't been great this year, but he still has the weapons and the ability to make things happen. Expect Russ to play a great game against an overrated Arizona defense.
Helping the Seahawks is the fact that Arizona will be playing this game shorthanded. Starting running back Chase Edmonds has already been ruled out, and backup runner James Conner is questionable. The defense will also be missing some important players, as starting defensive linemen Zach Allen and Jordan Phillips are both questionable for this contest, while starting cornerback Marco Wilson has been ruled out.
Why The Cardinals Could Cover The Spread
While the Cardinals have struggled on defense recently, they look like the best unit in the league when compared to Seattle's defense. The Seahawks allow a whopping 383 yards per game, one of the worst numbers in the entire league. Seattle has also only forced 17 turnovers on the year, another stat that puts them deep into the bottom half of the league. The last time these teams played, Arizona backup quarterback Colt McCoy led his team to 23 points scored and a victory. The Cardinals are playing all of their starters, so quarterback Kyler Murray and crew should absolutely shred this defense with ease.
Arizona has been one of the best teams in the NFL when it comes to covering the spread. Over the course of the season, Kliff Kingsbury's squad earned a 10-6 record ATS while the Seahawks earned an 8-8 record. Seattle is also a disappointing 3-5 on the road this year, which makes this a much more appealing bet.
Final Seahawks-Cardinals Prediction & Pick
This line is a little bit too big for a slumping Cardinals team. The Seahawks won't avenge their loss from earlier in the season, but they should cover here.
Final Seahawks-Cardinals Prediction & Pick: Seattle Seahawks: +5.5 (-110)
