The Seattle Storm take on the Las Vegas Aces. Our WNBA odds series has our Storm Aces prediction, odds, and pick. Find out how to watch Storm Aces.

The Seattle Storm started the WNBA season 1-3, but they have made the adjustments needed to turn things around. The Storm have not only won five games in a row to move to 6-3 and into the top five of the league standings; most of those five wins have been decisive victories. Seattle won by almost 10 points in Chicago against the Sky. The Storm hammered the Washington Mystics and Phoenix Mercury at home. The Storm have been really good at both ends of the floor over the past two weeks. Their top players are playing better. Their whole lineup is playing better. After stumbling in the first four games and looking nothing like the team many analysts expected to see, the Storm have become the team many WNBA watchers hoped it could become. Now comes the challenge of sustaining that winning identity for the rest of a season which is roughly at the quarter-mile mark and still has nearly 30 games left before we get to the playoffs.

The Las Vegas Aces, still without guard Chelsea Gray, are beginning to make progress. We aren't seeing the very best of the Aces every single night — they did get tripped up by the Atlanta Dream not that long ago — but we are seeing more of the team which looks like the defending champion of the WNBA. The Aces did bury the very good Minnesota Lynx in recent weeks. Their most recent game was a thorough demolition of the Dallas Wings on the road. The Aces are beginning to flex their muscles, especially on defense. There is a growing sense that once Chelsea Gray comes back, this team will be able to fully round into form and defend its championship.

Why The Storm Could Cover The Spread

Start with the point that the spread is pretty large for a game involving a Seattle team which has won five in a row. The Storm have been an excellent team the past two weeks, and yet they're an underdog of almost 10 points? Wow. Seattle is certainly not playing like a team which should be an 8.5-point underdog to anyone.

Then consider the Storm's opponent in this game. Las Vegas is a quality team, but it hasn't yet hit its stride in terms of game-by-game performances. There have been some decisive wins recently, but also an occasional stumble. The Aces are good, but they are not yet relentlessly consistent, as shown by their loss to the Atlanta Dream. They don't have Chelsea Gray, and that means they don't have all of their top players together on the court to create the best version of themselves. That matters.

Why The Aces Could Cover The Spread

The Aces are beginning to show signs of putting all the pieces together, even though they don't have all their top players together on the court. Becky Hammon has proved that she can get the most out of this roster. That should be factored into a betting evaluation of this team and this game.

Final Storm-Aces Prediction & Pick

The Aces will probably win straight up, but the Storm are getting a lot of points here. Take the Storm.
