There may not be a more lopsided matchup than the Minnesota Twins against the New York Yankees. The Twins are far from Superman, but the Yankees would be their kryptonite if they were. The Yankees and Twins played 18 games in the playoffs since 2003, with the Yankees winning 16. The Twins had a decent amount of success against the Yankees last season, winning four of seven games, but they went right back to struggling this season when the Yankees had a three-game sweep in a series in Minnesota. This series has been a good matchup between two of the American League's hottest teams. The Twins are 7-3, and the Yankees are 8-2 over their last ten. It is time to continue our MLB odds series with a Twins-Yankees prediction, pick, and how-to-watch.

The series starts on Tuesday night with Bailey Ober taking the mound for the Twins. Chris Paddack is in line to start on Wednesday night as he looks to rebound from a poor start in his last outing. Paddack allowed four earned runs over 5 2/3 innings, but the Twins managed to come back and win 7-5. The Twins are 3-2 over Paddack's last five starts, but Paddack hasn't had a winning decision since May 8th. The win on May 8th was his fourth victory in a row, giving him a 4-2 record and a 4.57 ERA this season.

The Yankees have won five Carlos Rodon starts in a row, an improvement over their 2-3 record to begin the season. Rodon is the pitcher that the Yankees hoped he'd be last season, as he is 7-2 with a 3.09 ERA this season. Rodon struggled in his first season with the Yankees, with a 3-8 record and a 6.85 ERA.

Why The Twins Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Twins have been good this season, as the Yankees series in Minnesota may have been their lowest point. The Twins may need a trip to the hitter-friendly confines of Yankee Stadium to get their offense going, as they had 15 runs in the first two games of the series at Yankee Stadium last season. Their offense has been marginally better on the road this season than at Target Field. Any improvement over their one run in three games against the Yankees earlier this season will give them a better chance to win.

Why The Yankees Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Yankees look like the best offense in baseball in a down year for hitting in the MLB. The Yankees top end of Juan Soto, Aaron Judge, and Giancarlo Stanton hasn't missed a beat, owning a .330 on-base percentage and 5.8 runs/nine against righties over their last ten games. They dominated Chris Paddack when these two teams faced off earlier this season, recording 12 hits and five earned runs over five innings.

Carlos Rodon has plenty of experience against the Twins after spending most of his career in the American League Central with the White Sox. However, his performance against the Twins earlier this season may have been his best. Rodon went six innings, allowing just six hits and one earned run.

Final Twins-Yankees Prediction & Pick

Carlos Rodon and Chris Paddack faced off on May 14th in Minnesota, with Rodon winning 5-1. The Twins' offense dried up against the Yankees in that series, scoring just one run over three games. You can't expect them to do that poorly again, but the Yankees have been nearly flawless at home this season.

It may not be as easy for the Yankees during this three-game series, but you can still expect the Yankees to take care of the Twins in this one.
