We get to finally crown the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world this weekend and it will be a spectacle like no other. Check out our Boxing odds series for our Fury-Usyk prediction and pick.
Tyson Fury (34-0, 24 KO) is coming off a split decision victory over Francis Ngannou in a fight that was way too close to comfort back in October 2023. Fury will be looking to put that one-off fight in the rearview as he takes on the man that he's been destined to face off against Oleksandr Usyk as he looks to keep his undefeated record in tact as well as solidify himself as the heavyweight king in all of boxing.
Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KO) has been ready for this fight after his first victory against Anthony Joshua back in September 2021. However, once that second victory came it was set that Usyk must fight Fury to unify the belts. Usyk had one last fight before this showdown with Fury and that's when he knocked out Daniel Dubois showing that nothing will stop him from getting his hands on Fury and putting this who's the best heavyweight in boxing to rest when they square off this weekend in Saudi Arabia.

Why Tyson Fury Will Win
“The Gypsy King” Tyson Fury will finally get to face off against Oleksandr Usyk to find who the greatest heavyweight on the planet is come this weekend by unifying the heavyweight titles. Fury is in possession of the WBC World Heavyweight title while Usyk has captured the IBF, IBO, WBA, and WBO World Heavyweight titles. This weekend history will be made and Fury will be looking to be crowned the king of the heavyweight division when it's all said and done.
Tyson Fury stands in at a staggering 6'9″ with an 85″ reach giving him a sizable advantage in height and reach over Usyk. He may be a fairly large man but he doesn't fight like one. Fury is by far the most nimble heavyweight boxing has ever seen as he is light on his feet, quick head movement with speed and precision in his strikes. He has some traits of the late Muhammad Ali which makes him a very tough matchup for anyone in the heavyweight division.
Fury will need to do what he does best and that is to utilize that reach and speed advantages that he has to pepper Usyk with shots from the outside and keep him out of harms way. If Fury allows Usyk to control the center of the ring and let him get on the inside of that reach it's going to be a long night for him. As long as he can keep Usyk at the end of his strikes like he has to the vast majority of the rest of his opposition he can get the job done and become the undisputed heavyweight champion.
Why Oleksandr Usyk Will Win
Oleksandr Usyk has fought the who's who of boxing on his meteoric rise to stardom with his perfect 21-0 record. The way he's dominated the opposition throughout his career gives him the confidence coming into this megafight with Tyson Fury. It's time to crown the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and Usyk is looking to make sure that will be him come this weekend in Saudi Arabia.
Oleksandr Usyk may not be the most physically imposing heavyweight but he makes up for it with his elite boxing skills. The way that he's able to systematically break down his opponents throughout the fight like he did Daniel Dubois will go a long way in this fight with Fury. Being the smaller fighter, Usyk is going to need to work the body and clinch up with Fury to trap him against the ropes and from there that's when he will be able to tee off on “The Gypsy King”.
Usyk must not keep this fight at range where Fury can just dictate the pace of this fight and dance on the outside peppering him with jabs. He needs to faint his way on the inside, land those body shots, and then land the heavy bombs when he's in close. If he can just navigate the reach of Fury and get on the inside to land his shots he can potentially put Fury away as he's been knocked down on numerous occassions or do enough work to get the nod on the judge's scorecards.
Final Tyson Fury-Oleksandr Usyk Prediction & Pick
History will be made when these heavyweight kings face off against one another this weekend in Saudi Arabia. Tyson Fury's size and length will certainly cause some issues for Usyk in the early going of this fight. However, once Usyk finds his range midway through this contest that is when he will start to pull away. Ultimately, Fury will do what he does best and that is dance around the ring utilizing his speed, and long-range attacks like his jab-straight combinations to keep Usyk at bay but once Usyk gets his range and starts to trap Fury against the ropes that's when he will tee off on Fury landing the heavier shots wearing him down the longer this fight goes and getting the nod on the judge's scorecards to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
