The Dallas Wings take on the Los Angeles Sparks. Our WNBA odds series has our Wings Sparks prediction, odds, and pick. Find out how to watch Wings Sparks.

The Los Angeles Sparks are going through a WNBA education right now. It's just that simple. When any team in any sport has two top-10 first-round draft picks, that usually means it finished near the bottom of its league the season before and is rebuilding. The Sparks are trying to get off the ground, but growing pains will be part of that process. The Sparks are one of the three worst teams in the WNBA right now, one of three teams with fewer than three wins through the first three weeks of the season.

Los Angeles has a lot of problems at the offensive end of the floor. We keep saying it because it's true and because it's relevant in any discussion of the Sparks from a betting standpoint. Los Angeles was smothered by Minnesota's very sharp defense earlier this week. The Sparks couldn't find a spark, netting only 62 points in a 24-point blowout loss which was never remotely close. Los Angeles needs to find a way to score 80 points per game and give itself a real chance when it takes the court. Scoring in the 60s is a recipe for failure.

Why The Wings Could Cover The Spread

The Los Angeles Sparks are not a good team. They don't have a good offense. Dallas should be able to handle them. The Wings do not have a good record, but they have been very competitive against upper-end WNBA teams this season. They barely lost to the unbeaten Connecticut Sun, taking a three-point lead late in the game before losing by two. They also were even with the Minnesota Lynx on the road through two and a half quarters before the Lynx pulled away in the fourth quarter. Dallas has shown signs of being a good team, and its bad record is partly the product of a tough schedule. Against Los Angeles, Dallas is clearly the better side.

Why The Sparks Could Cover The Spread

The Sparks just scored 62 against Minnesota. One would think they have it in them to score at least 75 points and will not continue to languish the way they have in recent weeks. Even bad teams have good nights. It's time for the Sparks to have one of those good nights, and if you were to pick an opponent for Los Angeles to defeat, Dallas is not a bad choice. The Sparks got crushed by a Minnesota team which is one of the three best teams in the WNBA. The Lynx have lost only twice this season. Dallas, on the other hand, is the ninth-best team in the W, barely ahead of Los Angeles in the league standings. The Wings have not been consistent enough to merit the benefit of the doubt here.

Final Wings-Sparks Prediction & Pick

The Sparks are still not a good team, and they don't show clear signs of improvement. Betting against them has been profitable in recent weeks. Take the Wings and fly.

Final Wings-Sparks Prediction & Pick: Wings -3.5
