Former NBA big man and BIG3 first-timer Larry Sanders made quite a newsworthy debut for Ice Cube's professional basketball league.

The former Milwaukee Bucks center surprised the crowd by popping the question to his girlfriend, and thankfully for him, he got the yes he was hoping for:

Congratulations to Sanders, who appears to be getting his life back on track following a tumultuous past few years that was characterized by injuries, drug-related league suspensions, and mental health issues. We're all hoping for the best for Sanders, and we genuinely hope that it's all uphill from here. Who knows, maybe a return to the NBA is in the books somewhere down the line?

However, despite his tremendous romantic achievement on Saturday night, Sanders had a forgettable debut for the 3 Headed Monsters, logging only a couple of rebounds and nothing else in a limited run for his new team.

Sanders may still be working his way back to game form following a two-year hiatus from professional basketball, so let's hope he will be given more opportunities by team head coach Gary Payton moving forward.

Before his troubles on and off the court, Sanders played for the Bucks for five seasons. He had his best year in the league during the 2012-13 season, averaging 9.8 points (on 50.6 percent shooting), 9.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.7 steals, 2.8 blocks, and 1.2 turnovers in 27.3 minutes per contest. He may no longer be able to perform at the same level, but perhaps an NBA team might just consider offering the experienced defensive specialist a short-term deal sometime in the near future.
