When the Buffalo Bills square off against the New York Jets on Sunday, Tre'Davious White will be without his new running mate.

According to the team's official Twitter account, veteran cornerback Josh Norman will not play in Week 1 for the Bills.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that Norman was unable to practice due to a hamstring injury. It was then reported that Norman's hamstring ailment was something that he's been dealing with for weeks.

As a result, it was already known that his status for Week 1 was very much in the air. Now, just two days before the Bills kick off their 2020 campaign, it's official that Norman won't be in uniform when the team takes the field.

During the free agency period of the offseason, Buffalo inked Norman to a deal following his release from the Washington Football Team. The former All-Pro cornerback was reuniting with general manager Brandon Beane, who was the assistant GM of the Carolina Panthers from 2015-16. Of course, the Panthers were the team that Norman was drafted by and where he had the most success in his career.

In recent seasons with Washington, Norman has failed to produce at the level he did earlier in his career. Last season, Norman started in eight games (playing in 12 of them) and logged just six pass breakups and one interception.

The idea behind Norman was to bring him into a system he was accustomed to and give White a formidable No. 2 alongside him at cornerback. But with Norman ruled out in Week 1, Levi Wallace or Taron Johnson will get the start.
