There's some good news for the Buffalo Bills, as young defensive tackle Ed Oliver is finally cleared of his DWI and weapon charges from last May, per ESPN.

In an announcement on Twitter, the Bills expressed their delight to the positive outcome of their sophomore's legal battle.

Two months ago, the 22-year old was pulled over in State Highway 242 by local authorities. He reportedly had an open beer between his legs and failed a sobriety test.

No other illegal substances were found in his vehicle, although a pistol was discovered in his car. Oliver was initially charged with DWI and unlawfully carrying a weapon.

It's now being reported that the Montgomery County DA has dismissed both charges against the Bills DT given that his blood tests came back negative. This blood tests clear both the DWI and weapon charge at him since carrying a pistol in your vehicle will only be illegal in texas if the driver is proven to be intoxicated or charged with another criminal act.

This is definitely awesome news for Ed Oliver, who took to Twitter to blast his initial charges. Given that his blood tests have come out negative, it's hard to argue with the Bills youngster.

Oliver is set to play his second season with the Bills once the 2020 campaign of the NFL begins. He was drafted by the Buffalo franchise as the ninth overall pick in the 2019 draft, putting up an solid rookie season with 5.0 sacks and 43 combined tackles.

Hopefully, with the legal issues gone, the sophomore can put this behind him and focus on an even stronger second season as training camp for the Bills is set to start before the month ends.
