The Buffalo Bills offense hasn't exactly looked like they were expected to this season, and one guy who has felt that more than others is Leonard Fournette. Fournette was signed at the end of October to shore up the Bills running back depth, but he's spent each game since his signing sitting on the sidelines watching James Cook, Latavius Murray, and Ty Johnson get all of Buffalo's carries.

Fournette, who was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting running back just last season, has understandably been frustrated with his nonexistent role in the Bills offense, but he hasn't given up on his new team. Ahead of a pivotal matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, Fournette ensured folks that he is up to speed with the Bills offense, and that he is ready to play when his number is called.

“I’m comfortable, up to speed. I’m ready, man. Just waiting on my opportunity. Of course, my first time really being in this position, so you know, I have my days. I think it’s humbling me, testing me, my faith and everything, but I’m getting better.” – Leonard Fournette, The Buffalo News

Should the Bills put Leonard Fournette to work against the Chiefs?

It's been a bit strange to see the Bills turn to Johnson as their third running back over Fournette, but considering the success they have had on the ground recently, you can't really fault them for keeping Fournette on the sidelines. It's not as if Fournette is a bad runner, but he seems to have been boxed out of a role with the Bills since signing with them.

Maybe his claims here will earn him a spot on the gameday roster against the Chiefs, but unless one of the three guys ahead of him ends up being inactive, it seems like a longshot for him to suit up in Week 14. It's been a trying season for Fournette, and while no one is doubting that he's ready to go, it remains to be seen when he will actually make his season debut in Buffalo.
