Free-agent wide receiver Terrelle Pryor is returning to the AFC East, but not with the New York Jets. Pryor is instead intending to sign with the Buffalo Bills, per Josina Anderson of ESPN.

Pryor visited the Bills on Monday and the team made had made a contract offer, which he is set to take.

The 29-year-old Pryor was released by the Jets on Oct. 20 after he suffered a groin injury. It appears he is now back to full health if the Bills were sufficiently satisfied with his condition to offer him a deal.

Pryor had been having a decent season with the Jets, with 14 catches for 235 yards and two touchdowns in six games. That’s a significant step up from his production last season with the Washington Redskins, where he had on 20 receptions for 240 yards and one touchdown in nine games due to injury.

Pryor should also be a significant upgrade from the Bills’ current receiving options. Zay Jones is the team’s leading receiver this season with 25 catches for 281 yards followed by Kelvin Benjamin with 16 catches for 262 yards. They also have one touchdown apiece.

Pryor can operate both out wide and in the slot, which should be a nice option for whichever quarterback the Bills start.

Pryor will have the chance to make his debut for the Bills in Week 9 against the Chicago Bears. And in Week 10, he'll have the first of two opportunities to face his former team, the Jets, with the other coming in Week 14.
