Von Miller's decision in his first trip into free agency was to sign with the Buffalo Bills. After spending most of his career with the Denver Broncos and helping the Los Angeles Rams with the Super Bowl, he decided to sign with a brand new team.

The eight-time Pro Bowler wasn't completely sold, though. According to Dan Pompei of The Athletic, Miller was ready to back out of Buffalo and tell the team's brass that he was not going to sign there.

He told himself he was going to the Bills offices in Orchard Park and telling GM Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott he had decided not to sign face to face. He would offer to pay for the private plane ride.

Once Miller heard why Buffalo wanted him so badly, he came around and signed his new contract.

Beane spoke of how the Bills fell short of their goal last season mainly because they couldn’t get to Patrick Mahomes in the divisional playoff loss to the Chiefs. Miller could change that. Beane also told Miller he would bring value to a young locker room because he knows how to win Super Bowls. McDermott stressed that he wanted Miller to be himself and nothing else. Frazier and Washington spoke of using him in matchups on both sides of the line.

Fortunately for the Bills, Miller had a change of heart. He will now be joining a fearsome defense that boasts Tre'Davious White, Jordan Poyer and Tremaine Edmunds. Buffalo's pass rush will be much improved with Miller, even as he continues to exit his prime years.

Miller still has ties to and love for Denver but will now be looking to establish himself with a new title contender. On the Bills, he will look to win his third Super Bowl and help lead Buffalo to its first.
