Chicago Blackhawks rookie center Connor Bedard continues to prove why he was the No. 1 overall selection of the 2023 NHL Draft.

Connor Bedard scored an insane goal against the Florida Panthers on Sunday. Not only that, but the goal came off a brilliant defensive stop in the waning moments of the first period.

The Panthers were trapped in their own zone with less than a minute to play. Florida center Kevin Stenlund made a pass in the right face-off circle but Connor Bedard stepped in and stole the pass from him.

With only Panthers netminder Sergei Bobrovsky to beat, Bedard unleashed a no-look, top-shelf shot that tied the score at two apiece. Connor Bedard's Blachkawks teammates quickly congratulated him after the spectacular play.

Bedard finished the game with two goals. Unfortunately, the Blackhawks lost to the Panthers, 4-3.

Connor Bedard is off to a rip-roaring start in his Blackhawks career

Bedard has been on a roll.  He has had six points in his last two outings. Connor Bedard is coming off a four-point game (two goals, two assists) in Chicago's 5-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday.

“I felt like there were games when I could have created more than this and I had zero points. You never know. I think it's just kind of sticking with it. That's how things go sometimes. It feels good to get on the score sheet,” Bedard said.

It seems Bedard has been having some of his best games against the Florida teams. His goal gave the Blackhawks a commanding 4-0 lead in the second period on November 5.

Not only that, but Bedard's fifth goal through his first 10 NHL games put him in Jonathan Toews territory.  When you mention Toews, you're talking about a Blackhawks legend.

With the way things are going, Connor Bedard will become a Chicago legend once he hangs up his skates.
