Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum has officially left Nike to join Li-Ning as their latest endorser.

McCollum announced that he signed a multi-year contract with the Chinese sporting brand through Twitter.

There are no specific details about the deal yet, including whether McCollum will get his own signature shoe. However, the 26-year-old told Casey Holdahl of NBA.com that he expects to be one of the main faces of the company.

“I think we’re still figuring out the next steps and some of the phases, but I’ll definitely be one of the main faces, one of the main fixtures of the brand,” McCollum said.

“I think obviously they have a guy like Dwyane Wade who is a superstar, who’s a hall of famer and done wonders for the brand and I’ll continue to help out any way that I can and will continue to figure out ways for me to be a part of that and to be a part of expanding the Li-Ning brand, not only in China and Asia but in the United States as well.”

This latest deal is no longer surprising as it has been reported recently that the Lehigh product was in negotiations with the said international sneaker brand. McCollum now joins Dwyane Wade, Evan Turner, Jose Calderon, and Glenn Robinson III as Li-Ning endorsers.

On the other hand, with McCollum's signing, Li-Ning got one of the NBA's most promising stars.

The 2016 NBA Most Improved Player of the Year has shown consistent progress since being drafted in 2013. McCollum averaged 23 points per game last season as one of the faces of the Blazers franchise along with backcourt running mate Damian Lillard.

Meanwhile, C.J. McCollum's jump to Li-Ning marked the end of his four-year stint with Nike which started in his rookie year.
