Carmelo Anthony says Portland Trail Blazers superstar point guard Damian Lillard is the best player he's ever played with in the NBA.

Anthony spoke about Lillard's greatness with Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports after the Blazers' win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday to clinch the final spot in the 2020 playoffs.

“Dame’s at the top for me,” Carmelo Anthony told Yahoo Sports about Damian Lillard. “I’ve never played with someone who lifted his team on the court with his play and as a leader. He genuinely cares for his teammates. What he’s been able to do is amazing. He’s the top guy I’ve played with.”

Lillard was named the Player of the Seeding Games after averaging 37.6 points per contest for the Blazers. He rebounded nicely after missing those two free-throws against the Los Angeles Clippers and getting trolled by Patrick Beverley.

The Blazers will take on the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the 2020 playoffs. It will be a star-studded affair with Lillard, Anthony and C.J. McCollum going up against LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the top-seeded Lakers.

For the Blazers to pull off the upset against the Lakers, Lillard will have to be the best player in the series, meaning he'll have to outplay James and Davis. However, Anthony and McCollum will need to be effective second and third options and Jusuf Nurkic has to dominate the boards against Davis, Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee.

Lillard has career playoff averages of 24.8 points and 5.9 assists with the Blazers. It should be fun to see what he can do against the Lakers on the NBA's biggest stage. Last season, Lillard sent Paul George and the Oklahoma City Thunder home in the first round with a shot from nearly half-court. He's been lighting up the gyms in Orlando already, so the Lakers better be ready for Dame.
