Portland Trail Blazers veteran forward Carmelo Anthony achieved a historic milestone on Sunday, as he cracked the Top 15 of the NBA's all-time scoring list.

After the game, the 10-time All-Star was asked to comment about this amazing feat, but Melo admitted that it's hard to celebrate the same given his team's current predicament.

According to Anthony, his focus lies on what the Blazers need to achieve at this point.

“First of all it's an honor,” the Blazers star said, via Marc J. Spears of ESPN. “I'm blessed to still be able to do it. To reach that Top 15, I don't want to take that for granted. There's some greats on there. But it's kinda hard to celebrate that at this moment. I appreciate it. It is what it is. It's a great milestone. Again, I don't want to downplay it, but it's very hard to talk about it when you're still on this dog fight. There's so much that we have to accomplish.”

As Melo mentioned above, this is no small feat. To become the 15th all-time scorer in NBA history is a tremendous achievement, which speaks volumes about what Anthony has done throughout his career. For a bit of perspective, some of the greats that Melo has surpassed in the list include Kevin Garnett, Jerry West, Allen Iverson and Charles Barkley.

Carmelo Anthony also briefly addressed his teammates in the locker room after the game to talk about his achievement:

It is clear what type of mindset Anthony possesses at the moment. At this point, individual achievements have become secondary to him, with the veteran completely focused on how he can contribute to the success of his team.

With the Blazers topping the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, they have now moved to just half a game behind the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies. Portland is on a furious run to claim a play-in spot for a chance to make the postseason.
