Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard responded to Saturday night's disappointing loss to the Los Angeles Clippers in the best way possible. This came in the form of an astounding 51-point performance on Sunday, leading his team to a huge victory over the Philadelphia 76ers — something that Portland teammate Carmelo Anthony approves of completely.

Carmelo Anthony spoke out about how impressed he is with Lillard and the type of mindset the All-Star point guard possesses day in and day out.

“This was expected of him to approach the game the way he approached it today,” Anthony said, via Mark Medina of USA TODAY. “That’s just a testament of how great of a player he is and how great of a person he is, but how strong his mindset is at the end of the day. So it’s an honor playing alongside him and being able to be out there in the dogfight and pulling games out like this knowing how focused and locked in he is.”

Lillard was on the receiving end of some criticism following Sunday's defeat to LA, which also featured a rekindling of Lillard's beef with Clippers star Paul George. Lillard was able to put that loss behind him immediately, and refocus his mind on the task at hand. This resulted in an amazing performance, with the 30-year-old finishing with 51 points on 16-of-28 shooting, along with three rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.

For his part, Anthony himself was not bad in this one, logging 20 points and seven rebounds. The 10-time All-Star also moved up in the all-time scoring list, as he now occupies the 15th spot with 26,411 career points.
