Cleveland Cavaliers big man Kevin Love was in some hot water recently when he had a temper tantrum during a game against the Toronto Raptors. While Love apologized to the Cavs for his actions and claimed his allegiance to Cleveland, that didn't stop him from expressing a desire to one day play for the Portland Trail Blazers before his career is over.

Love was on Chris Haynes' podcast when he talked about the possibility of teaming up with Damian Lillard in Portland:

Portland is Kevin Love's hometown, so it's only natural for him to have some level of desire to play there. Of course, the timing of these comments amid all the hubbub surrounding his situation with the Cavs isn't exactly the best and will only fuel rumors that he wants to be out of there as soon as possible.

Kevin Love is not due to hit free agency until 2023, so if he were to play for Portland soon he'd either have to be traded, bought out or wait a couple of more years until he becomes a free agent. Perhaps the Blazers would be willing to try to trade for Love in the near future, but his massive contract, declining play on the court and injury history would make things tricky.

It's no secret that Damian Lillard wants to play for a championship contender in Portland, and the franchise could use an upgrade in talent to make that happen. Love probably isn't the guy to get them over the top at this point, though, so this could be something that happens when he's much cheaper to sign.
