The Portland Trail Blazers made several additions to their roster on Monday morning. According to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Blazers have agreed to training camp deals with Chinanu Onuaku, Cam Oliver, and Gary Payton II.

Onuaku, now 21 years of age, was selected by the Houston Rockets with the 37th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. Though most hoops fans know the former Louisville Cardinal for his “granny-style” free throws, he's actually a solid big. As a sophomore in college, the Lanham, Maryland native averaged 9.9 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks, earning All-ACC Defensive Team and All-ACC honorable mention honors.

The Rockets decided to trade Onuaku to the Dallas Mavericks in August for the rights to forward Maarty Leunen. The Mavs then waived Onuaku four days later.

Oliver, a 22-year-old forward, went undrafted in 2017 but later signed a multi-year deal with the Rockets. However, the Oakland native was waived last November after making three appearances in the Summer League. He was traded to the Deleware 87ers (Philadelphia 76ers affiliate) in January.

Payton is the 25-year-old son of Seattle SuperSonics legend Gary Payton. The crafty point guard joined the Rockets for their 2016 Summer League campaign after going undrafted. He has played for several G League teams, including the Rio Grande Vipers (Rockets affiliate), Wisconsin Herd (Milwaukee Bucks), and South Bay Lakers (Los Angeles Lakers).

Payton played his collegiate ball at Oregon State, where he earned All-Pac-12 First Team, All-Pac-12 Defensive Team, and Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year honors.

The Blazers already have 15 guaranteed contract for the upcoming season, but perhaps one of these players surprises and makes the squad.
