Early Monday afternoon, the NBA issued a warning to Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard.

The warning comes in response to a play late in Sunday night's game against the Denver Nuggets in which Lillard has been accused of flopping.

On the play, Lillard went up for a corner three. Nuggets center Mason Plumlee ran towards Lillard to contest, and he continued into Lillard after the shot. He made contact and Lillard fell to the ground but no foul was called.

Needless to say, Lillard was not happy with the decision, and he took it to Twitter to voice his frustration.

Whether Damian Lillard did in fact flop on the play is open to interpretation, but this is not his first time speaking out against NBA officiating. After a December loss to the Golden State Warriors, Lillard voiced his displeasure in the referees' work that night. The contest featured six technical fouls — three for each team — with the most pivotal called on Lillard late in the fourth quarter.

While this was Lillard's first offense and resulted in just a warning, the penalties will increase for further violations. A second offense would cost $5,000 and would further increase to $10,000 for a third, $15,000 for a fourth, $30,000 for a fifth and a possible suspension for a sixth.

Lillard, a four-time All-Star, has been fantastic once again this season. The 28-year-old is averaging 25.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 6.9 assists. Thanks in part to his efforts, the Blazers are 51-29 and headed to the playoffs.
