Damian Lillard may have signed a two-year, $122 million extension with the Portland Trail Blazers, but it doesn't mean he'll change the way he lives or spends. That much is clear as the veteran guard joked about still being broke despite the money he got.

On his Instagram stories, Lillard has shared the reactions of various people to his deal. When someone asked if he can hold some of that money, Lillard hilariously responded and said he is “broke.” Meanwhile, his Blazers teammate Anfernee Simons made sure to remind the superstar that they expect him to foot the bill the next time they eat out.

Of course Lillard is not having any of that. Not with Simons himself getting a $100 million extension with the Blazers over four years.

While Damian Lillard has yet to officially speak about his extension, it is quite clear he is in a good mood. There were talks earlier that before he commit to the Blazers, he wants to see the team have a strong offseason and position themselves to be in playoffs contentions or even better in the coming years.

If that is the case, then it means Dame Time is happy with how things are going in Portland.

Lillard's new extension means he'll be under contract with the Blazers until the 2026-27 season. He'll be paid over $58 million in 2025-26 and over $63 million in the final year of the deal. With that said, he can probably afford giving a nice treat to his teammates even just for once.
