The playoffs haven't even started yet, but Dame Time is already alive and kicking in Orlando, Florida. Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard put on yet another scoring clinic on Tuesday, erupting for 61 points in his team's 134-131 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
It is Lillard's third 60-plus point explosion in the 2019-20 NBA campaign, making him only the second player to accomplish such feat in a single season. The 30-year-old Oakland-native joined the legendary Wilt Chamberlain, who first recorded the feat in 1962.

Damian Lillard stayed scorching hot following his 51-point outburst against the Philadelphia 76ers last Sunday. He shot 17-for-32 from the field against the helpless Mavs' defense and drained 9 of his 17 attempts from distance. Dame also finished with eight assists, five rebounds, and one steal in 41 minutes for the Blazers.

Dame tied his career-high on Tuesday, as he also poured in 61 points against the Golden State Warriors on MLK Day last January. Before that, he scored 60 markers against the Brooklyn Nets in November.
The record also marks Lillard's third 60-plus point game of his career, tying Hall of Famer Elgin Baylor. This incredible accomplishment puts him in elite company, including Wilt Chamberlain (32), Kobe Bryant (6), James Harden (4) and Michael Jordan (4).
Lillard's heroics is truly amazing to watch and couldn't have come at a much better time for the Blazers. The win puts them in sole possession of the eighth place in the Western Conference, a good spot as they fight for a spot in the play-in series.
