Being an NBA player comes with fame and a multitude of perks. Fans recognize the stars and usually give them preferential treatment for their on-court feats.  Unfortunately, Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard did not get this reaction when he chose to dine at a restaurant in Portland and wasn't even seated, leading to a comical exchange on Twitter between the star and teammate Jusuf Nurkic.

Lillard was upset that he couldn't even get a seat in his home city, and voiced his displeasure, calling out Bamboo Sushi for the inconvenience:

Nurkic soon chipped in his two cents on the sushi place, and it was not too complimentary:

Lillard seemed to be surprised by Nurkic's comments, as he wasn't even aware the big man was back in Portland. Nurkic has been playing for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the FIBA World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers:

Nurkic assured Lillard he was back in town by referencing an Eminem lyric, saying:

Nurkic could have used the quote for several reasons. Eminem has been in the news quite a bit lately because of a beef with fellow rapper MGK and the release of his album, “Kamikaze.” Lillard is also a documented rap fan and a rapper himself, going by the stage name Dame D.O.L.L.A. Or maybe Nurkic just had the catchy song stuck in his head.

Regardless, it's good to see the players coming together as the regular season is around the corner. Hopefully, Lillard has a better awareness of Nurkic's location when the two play the first game of the season against the Los Angeles Lakers on Oct 18.
