During his short prime with the Portland Trail Blazers, Brandon Roy was one of the smoothest scorers in the league, possessing crafty dribble moves, a solid 3-point shot and the ability to get to the free-throw line with regularity.

The Blazers kind of have that now in Damian Lillard, except Lillard has been able to stay healthy, unlike Brandon Roy who unfortunately bowed out of the league after just six seasons due to chronic knee issues.

Still, in spite of the fact that Damian Lillard has been doing it longer and more consistently, he feels that Roy would beat him in a game of one-on-one.

Roy, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Washington, was originally selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the sixth overall pick of the 2006 NBA Draft. However, he was immediately traded to the Blazers for Randy Foye.

Roy had a spectacular rookie campaign, averaging 16.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, four assists and 1.2 steals over 35.4 minutes per game while shooting 45.6 percent from the floor, 37.7 percent from three-point range and 83.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The following year, Roy made his first of three straight All-Star teams after posting 19.1 points, 5.8 assists, 4.7 boards and 1.1 steals across 37.7 minutes a night.

His scoring average then jumped to 22.6 points per contest in his third season. However, injuries began to hit in his fourth year, as a knee issue limited Roy to 65 games.

He then played in just 47 games during the 2010-11 campaign before announcing his retirement.

Roy eventually decided to come back for the 2012-13 season, joining the Timberwolves for five games, but that was the end for the Seattle native.
