After being unable to suit up for the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday as his team faced off against the Philadelphia 76ers, Blazers guard/forward Evan Turner is reportedly looking at a few more games on the sidelines as he nurses a left knee injury.

Turner played only eight minutes in Portland's previous game on Tuesday against the Nets before being forced to exit, and after missing out entirely on his team's 130-115 victory against the Sixers on Saturday, the 30-year-old veteran has ruled himself out for his team's next couple of games.

“I felt something pop when I was working out before the (Nets) game,” Turner said, via Jamie Hudson of NBC Sports.”As time went over, it was just stiff. In certain parts there was a little bit of pain… The X-rays came back promising. So, I’ll be out a few more probably and come back and see what’s up,”

Now on his third season with the Blazers, Turner has become one of the team's more dependable options off the bench. On the year, the 6-foot-7 swingman is currently averaging 7.4 points (on 46.0 percent shooting), 4.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 0.5 blocks, and 1.6 turnovers in 23.3 minutes per game.

Turner is on the third year of his four-season, $70 million deal, and he is expected to receive upwards of $18 million next season. That is quite a hefty paycheck for a player coming off the bench, but Turner has proven to be a pivotal part of head coach Terry Stotts' rotation. However, the recent arrival of Rodney Hood has had an effect on Turner's minutes, and this latest injury is not going to do him any favors.
