With Rodney Hood on his way to the Portland Trail Blazers, team general manager Neil Olshey has no doubt that the 26-year-old will be a perfect fit for his side.

According to Olshey, Hood's style of play is exactly what the Blazers are looking for, and that their recent acquisition appears to be a match made in heaven:

“Rodney is an accomplished NBA player that brings versatility, shot making and depth to our perimeter and will fit seamlessly into our culture and style of play,” said Olshey, via Blazers.com.

The Blazers just acquired the services of Hood from the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for a package that includes Nik Stauskas, Wade Baldwin IV, and two future second-round picks. That's quite a haul for a player who is currently averaging 12.2 points (on 42.7 percent shooting), 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 0.8 steals for one of the worst teams in the league right now.

The Blazers, however, appear to be extremely delighted with their recent acquisition, and perhaps rightfully so. Not only were they able to unload the contracts of two players who barely figured in the team's rotation, but in Hood, they have a guy who can provide some firepower for the second unit.

It is worth noting that Hood is currently on a deal that is set to expire this summer, so if things do not pan out according to plan, the Blazers may end up parting ways with the 6-foot-8 shooting guard in the offseason.
