Portland Trail Blazers center Hassan Whiteside says his left ankle in fine.
Whiteside tweaked his ankle on Tuesday, so the Blazers sat him out on Wednesday and Thursday. The big man describe the injury in humorous fashion:

It appears the Blazers are just being cautious with Hassan Whiteside, who is the team's new starting center while Jusuf Nurkic rehabs his leg injury.
Last season for the Miami Heat, Whiteside put up 12.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game while shooting 57.1 percent from the field. He recorded 36 double-doubles.
The Blazers are hoping a change of scenery will rejuvenate Whiteside, whose impact on both sides of the ball dipped in recent years in Miami. Portland would love it if Whiteside can recapture his 2016-17 form when he averaged 17.0 points and 14.1 rebounds.
Playing with guards Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum should be beneficial for Whiteside. If the big man can score efficiently and rebound for the Blazers, this could be a good trade for Portland even if Whiteside is mercurial — both on and off the court.
Whiteside has one year left on his deal with the Blazers. He’ll make $27 million this season. Whiteside will most likely come off the bench once Nurkic returns from his injury. He came off the bench last season in Miami, so it's a role he's accustomed to playing.
