The Portland Trail Blazers are one of the favorites to land the Philadelphia 7ers' wantaway-guard Ben Simmons, and it looks like Damian Lillard is not against the idea of teaming up with him.

On Twitter, fans and followers noticed Dame liking a photo of him and Simmons in a Blazers jersey. As usual in the speculative world of Twitter, it is more than enough to spark talks that he is open to pairing up with the Australian playmaker.

The Blazers are desperate to give Damian Lillard some help–especially after he expressed his dissatisfaction to the team's current roster that is not of championship caliber–and there is no doubt Ben Simmons can help them. One of Portland's biggest problem is their defense, something that Simmons is an expert at, being a Defensive Player of the Year finalist in the past campaign.

However, acquiring Simmons might require CJ McCollum and a few other assets. Philly has long been interested in Lillard, but since the All-Star guard has no plans to leave Rip City just yet, the Sixers might have to settle at their second-best player in McCollum–a potent scorer himself who can definitely thrive alongside Joel Embiid.

Philadelphia is currently pressured to find a trade partner for Simmons after the 25-year-old reportedly issued an ultimatum that he wants to be traded and won't be reporting to training camp. With that said, the team might want to pick up the phone and restart their conversations with the Blazers for a potential trade.
