Portland Trail Blazers forward Al-Farouq Aminu had a thunderous block against Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James late in the second quarter.

Those who have followed Aminu know he is capable of doing this to any player. He is one of the most underrated defensive players in the league.

Al-Farouq Aminu is one of those types of players one would love to have as a teammate, but equally hate going up against. He is just everywhere on the floor to make winning plays. He is also one of the better rebounders in the game today.

The former Wake Forest standout had 13 rebounds, four points, two dimes, two blocks, and two steals against the Lakers. He is simply the guy that shores up Portland's defense.

So far this season, Al-Farouq Aminu is averaging 8.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 0.8 steals per game. He is shooting 39 percent from the field and 27.6 percent from 3-point range.

Portland will need to shore up their defense after giving up 114 points to the Lakers.

For Aminu, he can add this block to his career highlights on the defensive end. Blocking a star player like James is always going to be on your career highlight package. He can probably tell his grandkids eventually that he once blocked the best player in the world.
