The Portland Trail Blazers have sent guard Nik Stauskas to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Rodney Hood. After hearing the news, the five-year veteran attended Sunday's practice to say goodbye to his former teammates.

Stauskas, the eighth overall pick of the Sacramento Kings in the 2014 NBA Draft, will be with his fifth team already. He spent his first season with the Kings before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, where he played for two-and-a-half years. He was then shipped to the Brooklyn Nets for a brief 35-game stint landing with the Blazers last summer.

Stauskas began the season as Blazers coach Terry Stott's perimeter sniper. He had a strong showing during the team's home opener agains the Los Angeles Lakers, when he scored 24 points. However, he struggled to follow that up and is back to scoring single digits for most of the season.

He finished his tenure with the Blazers averaging 6.1 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.

The Blazers need a 3-and-D guy, a role which Hood fits the bill. The Cavaliers traded him to Portland as part of their plans to rebuild.

Hood, the 23rd overall pick in the 2014 Draft is averaging 12.2 points this season, while shooting 42 percent from the field, including 36 percent from deep. He will be joining a Blazers team that's trying to hold on to the fourth spot in the Western Conference standings. Having Hood on board will surely help the Blazers on both ends of the floor, as he can shoot 3-pointers on a consistent basis while also being able to guard some of the opposing team's best players.
