The Portland Trail Blazers released an interesting video campaigning for Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum to make the 2019 All-Star Game. It features Lillard campaigning for McCollum and vice versa. The video is something you have to see for yourself:

The video opens with Lillard outside of the Moda Center holding up a “Vote CJ NBA All-Star” sign, but that doesn't even explain the half of it. While holding the sign, a stuntman standing in for Lillard is simultaneously wearing a Darth Vader costume, performing the “Star Wars” theme song on bagpipes, and riding a unicycle. With everything going on, it's easy to miss the flames coming from the bagpipes.

McCollum's advocacy for Lillard is a throwback to the iconic dance scene from “Napoleon Dynamite” while wearing a “Vote For Damian” shirt. Lillard calls up his buddy Meyers Leonard to check up on how he's doing, and the video then cuts to McCollum's dance broadcasting to a packed crowd in Moda Center.

This video is absolutely bonkers, but it shows what different social media teams are doing to get out the All-Star vote for their team. The fan vote is far from a perfect system, but it is why we see different campaigns for the All-Star voting.

If the fan vote results in videos like this, then something is working. Lillard is currently sixth among Western Conference guards in fan voting, while McCollum is outside the top 10. The Blazers are hoping this viral video gives their backcourt a push.
