The Atlanta Braves have finished the job. They now stand as the 2021 World Series champions after handily defeating the Houston Astros, 7-0.

The power bats came through in a big way in Game 6 as Freddie Freeman and Jorge Soler combined for two homers and five RBIs to lead the Braves' offensive attack. Soler started off the scoring with this absolute monster that literally left the park.

But the same amount of credit goes to Max Fried. The Braves' ace, coming off a Game 2 debacle where he gave up six runs in five innings, pitched an absolute gem in this one.

Fried denied the Astros from scoring a single run in six innings, allowing just four hits, no walks, and getting two double-plays to nearly retire the batters in order. He did commit an error in the first inning leading to the Astros' biggest threat of the evening, but quickly made up for it in fine fashion for the Braves. The Braves bullpen followed his lead as they blanked the Astros up until the final out.

To be able to pull off this amazing run even after star player Ronald Acuna Jr. went down with injury to end his season is just an incredible display of talent and perseverance in Atlanta.

After a nearly three decade drought of championship baseball, the Atlanta Braves are back on top of the MLB world once again.
