Carmelo Anthony has made $248,940,171 in NBA money since entering the league back in 2003 with the Denver Nuggets, per Spotrac. The 10-time All-Star has played for the Nuggets, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers during his Hall of Fame basketball career.

Anthony made $3,229,200 in his rookie year with the Nuggets. He averaged 21.0 points and 6.1 rebounds. Melo finished his rookie deal with Denver by making $3,471,360 in Year 2, $3,713,640 in Year 3 and $4,694,041 in Year 4 before his rookie-scale extension kicked in during the 2007-08 season.

In the summer of 2006, Carmelo Anthony signed a five-year, $80 million extension. Melo made $13,041,250 in 2007-08, $14,410,581 in 2008-09, $15,779,912 in 2009-10 and $17,149,243 in 2010-11.

After failing to win a championship with the Nuggets, Anthony requested a trade and was sent to the Knicks in February of 2011. Melo wound up signing a three-year, $64.2 million extension with the Nuggets before the trade went down.

In 2011-12, which was his first full season with the Knicks, Anthony made $14,905,194 while averaging 22.6 points per game. The following season, Carmelo led the NBA in scoring at 28.7 points while racking in $19,444,504 for his family. The 2012-13 season was the last time a Knicks team has had a winning record and made the postseason.

Carmelo Anthony made $21,388,953 in 2013-14. He was an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2014 and could have joined a contender. However, the former Syracuse Orange star decided to re-sign with New York on a five-year, $124.1 million contract.

The Knicks were a disaster in Anthony's final three seasons with the team, during which the scoring forward made $22,458,401, $22,875,000 and $24,559,380 a year. New York ended the Melo era when the franchise traded Carmelo to the Thunder in the summer of 2017.

Carmelo Anthony made $26,243,760 in his one year with OKC. He put up 16.2 points in the regular season, but the Thunder lost in the first round of the 2018 playoffs despite having Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Anthony.

OKC wound up moving on from Melo after just one year, trading him to the Atlanta Hawks in the offseason of 2018.

However, Anthony never played a single minute for Atlanta. The team waived him, allowing Carmelo to sign with the Rockets on a one-year, $2.4 million deal.

As crazy as it was, Carmelo Anthony — one of the best scorers in NBA history — just went from making $26,243,760 in 2017-18 to $2.4 million a year later.

Anthony’s run with the Rockets only lasted 10 games. He was exiled from the team for months before Houston traded him to the Chicago Bulls. Anthony was out of the NBA for more than a year after the Bulls waived him.

Fortunately, the Portland Trail Blazers signed Anthony to a non-guaranteed deal this season worth $2.16 million. Carmelo played well with the Blazers and the team guaranteed his contract in December.

Carmelo Anthony averaged 15.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in 2019-20 before games were suspended due to COVID-19.
