As the regular season comes to a close, the attention toward impending and potential free agents continues to heat up. The most marquee name among them is obviously Kevin Durant, should he choose to opt out of his contract with the Thunder.

A number of suitors have been dissected by pundits, based on their fit for Durant as well as rumors about places he'd like to play. The Lakers, Celtics, Warriors, and Wizards are commonly mentioned, but a more ridiculous proposal out there is Durant joining the lowly, dysfunctional 76ers.

Their head coach, Brett Brown, is realistic about the team's chances of persuading KD to come to the City of Brotherly Love.

“If we're all honest, it's going to be hard to get Kevin Durant to come to (the Sixers),” Brown said early today, via Tom Moore.

Due to the rising salary cap, the 76ers aren't the only team that will be able to offer the top dollar for Durant, and given their atrocious performance over the last three years, KD would have to be crazy to go there.

Brown does, however, contend that the Sixers have the assets to convince other talented free agents to join the squad in Philly.

“We think we have a lot to offer and are confident we can attract free agents to come here,” Brown said.

For Brown's sake, I hope he's correct.
