According to Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock’s Pro Football Reference page, his first name is Paul and his middle name is Andrew. However, that claim has been debunked by a fairly reputable source – Lock’s dad, Andy Lock.

Sports Reference and its various offshoots (Basketball Reference, Baseball Reference, Pro Football Reference, etc.) are some of the most reliable and widely cited sports statistics website on the internet. However, even they can have inaccuracies.

As you can see, the elder Lock succinctly conveys that Drew Lock’s first name is not Paul, which begs the question: where did that information come from? Either way, the paterfamilias set the record straight so Drew won’t be mistaken for “Paul” anytime soon.

Drew Lock is slated to be the Broncos' starting quarterback in the 2020 season after showing his abilities at the end of the 2019 campaign.

The Broncos moved up into the second round in 2019 in order to draft Lock out of the University of Missouri, so head honcho (and Denver legend) John Elway clearly saw something in the 23-year-old that caught their attention.

Indeed, the team’s belief was rewarded in Lock’s rookie season, as he was easily the best quarterback on the team in 2019, with an injured and wizened Joe Flacco seemingly passing into the twilight of his career at age 35 and third-stringer Brandon Allen not showing much in his three starts in 2019 before Lock took over.

With a starting position locked up and his first name confirmed by his pops, it looks like nothing can stop Drew Lock in 2020.
