It goes without saying that the biggest storyline heading into the NFL offseason is the pending result of the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes. Despite earlier reports, Cousins insists that it is still an open race between the frontrunners involved.

As a result, Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders has stepped up the team's recruiting pitch with this post on Twitter:

“The [Cousins] to [Demaryius Thomas] and myself combination would be dangerous!!” Broncos receiver Emmanuel Sanders said.

The Broncos were among the teams pegged as early favorites to acquire Cousins' services. Star linebacker Von Miller kickstarted the recruiting process with multiple posts on social media encouraging him to come to Denver and other Broncos have since followed suit.

Despite their disappointing 2017 NFL season, the Broncos made it clear that they fully intend to keep their talented wide receiver duo of Sanders and Demaryius Thomas around for the time being. The addition of Cousins would have perhaps the biggest impact on the wide receiving corps more than anything after they floundered due to the lackluster play under center last year.

Both Thomas and Sanders are proven Pro Bowl-caliber receivers that simply regressed as a result of the quarterback carousel that went on this season. The latter has enjoyed tremendous success since coming over from the Pittsburgh Steelers prior to the 2014 NFL season. He came into this year having recorded three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons before the 2017 campaign. That said, his and Thomas' resurgence largely hinges on which quarterback the Broncos' brass can acquire this offseason.
