The Broncos had just stolen former Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio to be their newest head coach. Even though it's likely that Fangio will be calling the shots defensively, its good to have someone in the coordinator position to keep accountability.

Donatell is a former member of Fangio's staff on the Bears as the secondary coach for three years. He has experience as a defensive coordinator with the Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Falcons in the mid-2000s. He worked in the collegiate level for over a decade in the 1990s and has since been with seven organizations as a defensive coach in some capacity.

The Chicago Bears had one of the best defenses in the entire NFL last season. Their pass rush with Khalil Mack and Leonard Floyd along with Akiem Hicks plugging the gaps and Eddie Jackson roaming as the free safety, the Bears had the personnel to dominate offenses all year long. They led the NFL in total takeaways and defensive scoring.

The Broncos hope that Fangio and his staff will be able to bring some of that magic to Denver. Von Miller is one of the best pass rushers in the league as well, and it remains to be seen how they will change their scheme moving forward.

The Broncos went 6-10 last season under former head coach Vance Joseph. This allowed them to finish 3rd overall in the AFC West Division.
