Denver Broncos president John Elway spoke about the team's impending free agents at the NFL scouting combine, though he noted the team's focus was on evaluating the prospects in Indianapolis.

Elway said the front office will sit down and discuss cornerback Chris Harris Jr., defensive end Derek Wolfe and defensive lineman Shelby Harris and whether they still fit with the current roster (via Jon Heath of USA TODAY):

“They’re all part of the process,” Elway said. “We’re going to look at that. Once we get back from here and start sitting down, we’ll really put the plan together and see what we’re going to do. We’ll be in contact with their agents. Ultimately, it’s up to the player and what they want to do.

“We’ll see where they fit in the plan. Obviously, you always want guys back like that, but you never know how it’s going to happen.”

Harris–a Broncos lifer–is a four-time Pro Bowler who also made First-Team All-Pro in 2016. But he struggled last season, with opposing quarterbacks posting a 112.3 rating when targeting his side of the field, according to Pro Football Reference.

The 30-year-old also reportedly turned down an extension prior to the trade deadline, which might force the Broncos to look elsewhere in the corner market.

Wolfe and Harris seem like candidates to return. Wolfe rebounded from an underwhelming 2018 to post seven sacks this past year, while Harris also notched six sacks and 49 tackles from the nose tackle spot.

The Broncos were tied for 17th in the NFL in sacks, and it seems unlikely Elway would allow his two best pass-rushers to hit the open market.

Still, Denver will bide their time ahead of free agency.
