The Denver Broncos made the decision to part ways with head coach Vic Fangio on Sunday. The move wasn't particularly surprising, considering the 19-30 record Fangio amassed during his three-year stint with the Broncos. After the official decision was handed down, Fangio released a statement via the Denver Broncos Twitter account, thanking the franchise for the opportunity to serve as head coach.

In what was a classy message from Fangio, the 63-year-old thanked the likes of John Elway and Joe Ellis, as well as general manager George Paton. He also left some heartfelt words for the players and members of the Broncos' coaching staff, as well as the loyal fanbase.

Fangio faced an uncertain future with the Broncos after the team's midseason struggles. The Broncos started the year 3-0 but finished with a disappointing 7-10 record following Saturday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Fangio had previously been asked about his job security, stating that he opts not to concern himself with it, for what he described as personal reasons.

While Fangio's stint as head coach in Denver wasn't successful, he will garner plenty of interest this offseason when teams are looking to fill out their coaching staff. Fangio boasts an impressive 19 years of experience as an NFL defensive coordinator, having spent time with the Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, and Carolina Panthers.

In addition to his time as a defensive coordinator in the NFL, Fangio has also served 13 years as a linebackers coach with both the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens.
