After starting the season to an impressive 3-0 start, the Denver Broncos have lost four straight games. Things appear to be getting worse before they get better, as Von Miller's injury update is troubling for this franchise.

According to the Denver Post, Von Miller has missed three consecutive practices due to his ankle injury. For a team struggling so much, this is the worst-case scenario. Miller seemed to be back to his normal self to start the season, but now, the Broncos must be careful with how they approach this situation.

Head coach Vic Fangio was asked about Miller's injury status:

“We still have Friday's practice and Von's a veteran player so you feel a little more comfortable playing him with limited practice. The first few days, he was having a hard time pushing off on it. That's alleviated some.”

At the very least, it seems Fangio is a little bit optimistic about Miller's status. However, considering he suffered a serious injury in 2020, the Broncos might want to consider proceeding with caution. If not, Von Miller could suffer another serious injury, which could be detrimental to the remainder of his career.

The Broncos are an interesting team right now. Their offense has the talent to be dangerous, but they haven't produced the last four weeks. Meanwhile, the defense has played at an elite level, keeping the team within reach of most of their games. Losing Miller is not an ideal situation.

We'll see what happens, as the Broncos will monitor Von Miller on Friday and Saturday. It's looking like he might be a game-time decision for Denver's Week 8 matchup against the Washington Football Team.

If Miller is forced to miss this game, the defense will be without their top pass rusher. Hopefully, he can bounce back and remain healthy for the remainder of the season, as the Broncos need Miller if they hope to make a postseason push later in the year.
