Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders will play in his team's game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night, according to James Palmer of NFL Network.

Sanders has been nursing a knee injury that he sustained during the Broncos' win over the Tennessee Titans last Sunday. He exited the game after logging one catch for three yards.

On the season overall, Sanders has tallied 25 catches for 307 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

The 32-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Southern Methodist, was originally selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round (82nd pick overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft.

He had a limited role in each of his first two seasons with the Steelers, but in 2012, he had a breakout year of sorts, catching 44 passes for 626 yards and a touchdown. Sanders then showed marginal improvement in 2013, finishing with 67 catches for 740 yards and six scores.

However, it wasn't until Sanders arrived in Denver in 2014 that he truly turned into a terrific receiver, as he hauled in 101 receptions for 1,404 yards and nine touchdowns during his first year with the Broncos, making a Pro Bowl appearance.

Sanders proceeded to put together three straight 1,000-yard campaigns between 2014 and 2016, earning a couple of Pro Bowl selections in the process.

Since then, Sanders' production has declined, and last year, he tore his Achilles after 12 games.

Many felt Sanders would miss most of 2019, as recovering from an Achilles tear generally takes around a year, but Sanders amazingly suited up for Week 1 and has looked spry thus far.
